Unfortunately I don't think this forum is a suitable place to mention it!

Please help me understand why people call inanimate objects personal names as I really do not understand! A car is a car it will be the "the car" or the "effin car" if it is not working! I can understand puggy as that is shorter and easier to say peugeot (partner has a puggy)

It's human nature.

Our current car is "That Rattly Creaky Piece of S**t, I Told You We Shouldn't Buy It". I'm not sure if that's anthropomorphised, or simply proving your point 😆

Pug is shorter than Puggy.

I don't understand why people would give affectionate names to their car either. Did you ever see the Louis Theroux program about "car lovers" in America? There were people literally having a fluid exchanging relationship with theirs and other people's cars.

It’s going to be called “Trabbie”.

As in “I’ll take the the Trabbie today, if you’re not using it”

A friend of my daughter (9) went into the ID.3 for the first time last week and saw the blue light doing its thing, came out amazed saying "This car has a blue light that flashes when you open the door - it is literally from the future."

Our ID.3 is now referred to as 'The car from the future'

All the best

We have called ours Ida as it was the only German female name by husband liked. Our VW camper is Otto as he’s also German and left hand drive.
