Thanks.
Do you know which port yours will arrive at?
Either Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne
No - nearest would be Sheerness.

Dealer estimates car will be with them second half of October.

Google found me a news item which said VAG have 11 ROROs worldwide on charter, but it didn't say what their names are, nor where they operate. Is that info online anywhere? (Keeping tabs on a ship is straightforward once one knows its name - and some other detail if there are several ships with the same name.)
Just keep an eye on Emden port. Currently its only the trans Atlanta moored at the moment.
As soon as a ship arrives its usually anything from 10 hours upwards you'll see the destination.

Just for your information the Malacca Highway is due to dock in Emden at 04.00 30/9 and this ship has run the Emden - Sheerness route many times before.

Would it be rational to assume that a delivery to the Oxford area would come into Sheerness ? Grimsby seems an awful long way away, but I know Midlands is served from Grimsby

Lets hope your car has a ticket to board. Your dealer should be able to tell you if your car has been released to shipping which is status code 38

Sailed 0313 GMT this morning, declared destination Sheerness. At that point things get muddled, as its ETA is declared as 0230 October 1! Ship is currently safely in the northern (west-bound) lane of the traffic separation zone off the north-west tip of Holland.

I think the east coast is currently at its lowest tide as the City os St Petersburg is sitting of the Yorkshire coast waiting to go in to Grimsby and that is expected Sunday.

So according to VW UK my ID3 is still at Emden, so doesn’t look like it made the latest Sheerness trip on the Malacca Highway :(

It will arrive when it arrives, why all the drama around tracking ships, next thing people will be trying to track car transporters and then try and work out how long a retailer will take to do the pdi and clean and polish the car. Chill out, once a factory order is placed it is out of your hands and the retailers!!!

Agree on chilling- we ordered ours at the end of June, got given build week 37. Contacted VW chat, pretty useless feedback, they told me it was 38 and when I asked that means it should have been built they stopped the chat….
I suspect nobody in the supply chain really knows and even when it does arrive there will no doubt be loads of other delays tied in with salespersons schedule etc.

Just showing interest in the process. I wouldn’t call that dramatic. Not sure why it bothers you so much if other people are interested.

It can actually be helpful to track each stage to know if things are moving along as scheduled or delayed.

Not sure why it’s a problem for you? If you don’t like it, just stay out of this thread.

We ordered 05/08 and a few weeks ago were given a provisional build week of 42 (18/10 I think). We just had the build week of 42 confirmed by the dealer.
He couldn't give an estimated delivery date with any confidence (he had previously suggested November, which seemed very optimistic). I'm hoping to get it this year, which aligns with what we were told when ordering.

Somewhat disappointed that confirmed build date is 4 weeks later (wk46) than provisional build date. Doubt delivery will be this year.

Your dealer probably didn’t have any allocation available at the point you ordered.
