Update to 2.3
Hi, I have just been advised that my car will be updated to the latest 2.3 software within the next week. However the message I received was all in German. I have been back to VW and they said I had opted for German as my language in We Connect, !! ,and if I want to change the language to English I must delete the We Connect app and start again. However if I do this I will not be able to upload the latest software. Bit of a Catch 22, has anyone else experienced this ?
Yes, others have had the email in German and have already been discussing this in the popular 2.3 thread 'General 2.3 OTA rollout to start' viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1227&start=30
Mine was in German. When I queried this I was advised "Regarding your request, we would like to inform you that the email you received concerning the Over-the-Air Update is in German language due to the fact that your preferred country is set to Germany while you performed the initial registration of your account.
Please be informed that the preferred country can not be changed. To ensure that future communications will be sent out in English you will need to delete your account and create a new one by setting your correct preferred country but this will result in loosing the Over-the-Air Update as well as all your personal data and settings.
If you would like to proceed with the Over-the-Air Update (provided that you keep your current account) you will need to press on the blue icon "Zustimmen" in the email you received which means you agree to receive the Over-the-Air Update."
I don't remember setting my preference to Germany at all!

Have you tried going to https://vwid.vwgroup.io/account and checking your language and country setup there ?
I think you are being led astray by bad advice from VW. Language and country are separate - after all what if you were an English speaker resident in Germany? And what if you move back to England?
VW’s software developers are many things, but all their websites are well localised!
You can also see which VW applications are allowed to access your profile info and revoke authorisations if you no longer use them.

Like many others, I've had the e-mail in German. I have checked my profile and app settings on https://vwid.vwgroup.io/account as suggested by Utumno above and it's set to English and United Kingdom.
Anyway, I have clicked on the 'Zustimmen' button i.e. 'agree' to update. This isn't the first time that I've noticed that VW's customer service has been a bit below par, at the moment and it's still early days I'm prepared to give them some leniency to iron out some 'bugs'; but they are streets behind the customer service I had when I owned my BMW.

Just checked my account settings too, out of curiousity as I don't have a car to play with yet.

No, there’s a post somewhere which outlines the schedule.

This is worth adding to this thread: https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners- ... e-2-3.html
Like very many, I assume, I'm waiting patiently for the update to start. Like so many things it's not what is said that is important but what remains unsaid. There is no great fluttering in the chicken shed, no wailing and gnashing of teeth, no tearing of clothes or beating of breasts. Has it actually started or are we being taken for a ride?

According to the schedule posted earlier, I don’t think it’s actually started for “us”
Us = not in Germany or Austria.
