Vegans believe there should not be a choice.

I cannot understand why some meat eaters believe it is wrong to eat a dog or a horse (or even dead humans).

I am a vegetarian and not a vegan and my view has now changed. I think vegetarianism is not enough. The vegan view is morally correct.
Another off the point ramble about a subject nothing to do with id3
Yeah, put it in the dealership discounts thread where it belongs with the random ice cream and crustaceans talk!

Oh, Ok - I ordered a Family last week with it. I was sure it was on the Max as well as I was comparing prices against DTD for various models & options.

The granny cable as a factory option for £180 is gone as well - now just the dealer option at £216.

What’s this on the inside of the mirror?

Wasn’t on the 1st Ed I rented a fortnight back, and not on the screengrabs I took off the family configurator last week.

Do people care you think there there should be a choice?

You passive-aggressive comments are getting more frequent.

Keep on topic people. Accept others may have differing opinions, not just on car interiors!

Bringing this back, I am in awe at the meltdowns over on Facepalm with people complaining that (checks notes) new MYs that are sold at (checks notes again) higher prices get additional spec items, and that there are some who are feeling betrayed.

It's a funny old world.

All the best

New better version comes out.. happens it's life and technology. When to buy? Early adopters often get a poor deal, My concern now though is the commitment to the parts of the older cars that can be updated, yes I'm moaning about the lack of any OTA update still. The responses I am getting from emails ab out the lack of 2.3 are woeful and I fully expect that at some point soon VW will dump a 'We just can't get it to work, bombshell' and then concentrate on new cars.

I don't think this will happen TBH. They'll probably fix any remaining non-2.3s when they call in our cars to get the 12V battery changed, by updating while at dealer.

As for the other goodies that are coming, unless VW is totally stupid, they could offer much of this for a cost (or free as part of an OTA to show that they care), with hardware installations requiring dealer visits, which will keep dealers happy. I'd consider paying for area view and the installation of additional sensors, if that were a possibility.

Regarding 'poor deal', I consider myself lucky that I drive an ID.3 now, while those who waited for some fancy-shmancy nicer plastic won't get there's until over a year after I got mine. Swings and roundabouts.

All the best

This was my feeling too. I suspect everyone who comes out the other side of the 12v campaign will end up with 3.0 on their vehicle, irrespective of how bad their 2.3 experience was/has been/still is.

Thanks for sparing a thought for us poor saps who ordered prior to the fancy-shmancy plastics being a 'thing' 😂 I won't say no to the upgrades if they happen, but I'd far rather have the vehicle in-hand, thank you very much 😆

If they manage the recall the way they manage software updates, I'll have sold mine before I see a replacement battery.. (or should that be mis-manage)

The 'Poor deal' I referred to was the overall experience, release software to 2.1 via dealership, bricked cars etc etc, although the 'Integrated data volume in We Connect app...' sounds like something they could have just rolled out to all existing owners?

I can see why 1st Edition buyers feel shortchanged, as they seem to have been sold a 'public beta' of the car. I think for those like me who did get the car later, with 2.1 installed, it's a different story.

I suspect the App upgrades will come to all users. Let's see.
