Has anybody else had to supply proof of their Land Registry when applying for the charging point grant?
I decided to use a company called SmartHomeCharge and the initial bit was relatively straightforward, after I’d supplied all the information they’d asked for they then came back to me to say that I had to provide Land Registry proof ( Red outline) of my property! It’s a standard semi with driveway (mine) to the side!
Frustrating

Nope, sounds a bit over the top to me.

Hopefully your property is registered with the land registry for you to comply with the request.

Having related bother right now as the wife inherited her late mother's house. The deeds are nowhere and it was never registered with the land registry. Fun and games with the solicitors trying to reconstruct the title to be able to sell it.

No, that sounds bonkers unless for some reason they think they might need to take some cabling across the site boundary. All I had to do was tick various boxes saying I owned the home etc, and sign for it.
I think a land registry plan will cost you you a few hundred extra quid if they want an official one.

I used Octopus, and I'm 100% certain I had to do the same - the only difference is that they gave me an online tool to draw it.

Thanks for your replies. I found the above on the gov.uk site.

No. Simple confirmation of the parking space/drive availability was enough for me. Seems they are entitled to request Land Registry proof if they want though. Usually quite easy to get the plan from the LR website though.

I had to do the same with smarthomecharge as well, luckily I still had a digital copy from the house purchase. The surveyor never needed it so must be a tick box exercise for them.

plus an additional £78

£3 is just the fee to carry out a search.

I don’t think that’s correct. I’ve obtained various plans recently for my in-laws and there was no £78 fee - just the £3.

Don't know, I was interested in obtaining some of my details (vaguely interested) and noticed

We used Smart Home Charge (and had great service from them) and did not have to supply land registry details. However, ours is a detached house with parking. I would imagine that if they believe that there might be some issue with the parking and the house somehow being separated they might need confirmation. On some modern housing developments the parking can be separated from the house even if they are next to each other due to silly planning/registry rules the developers use. I can't help with the fees question.

When did you buy the house? We had a plan of the house with the boundary marked in red when we bought our house 4 years ago so that could be something you could use.

I had to provide Land Registry document to SmartHomeCharge. Cost about £3 to download the relevant document from Land Registry website.
