Windows opening randomly.

I was wondering if anyone has found their windows have opened randomly? I’ve had my ID3 for a week and had a call from my neighbour saying that the windows were wide open. For some reason overnight the passenger side windows had completely opened The car was locked. Both keys were in separate drawers in faraday bags. I could have had a brain fart and done something stupid but not sure how. I did ask on one of the facebook forums and one person has reported all 4 windows open in the morning. Just wondered if anyone else had this issue.

I’m still waiting for my id3 to be delivered, but, with both my MINI and previous Jaguar I have found the windows to be randomly and unexpectedly open in the morning. Apparently, with these two vehicles if one were to press the unlock button, and then press it again and hold it down within about 10 seconds, all of the windows would wind down completely very quickly. I only found out after I bent down several times with the key fob in my pocket, whilst close to the car, causing this sequence to happen.
From then onwards, I have always been very careful about key fobs in pockets when close to the car.

This certainly sounds like an accidental “global open” event to me.

Yes think its unlikely that I accidentally held the button down long enough and seems odd that it was only passenger windows open.

Had a Golf Plus that did that, took it to the VW service centre and they went into the cars computer and disabled the fobs window closing/opening trick. Didn’t do it again after that.

I think I have had this happen but can't be certain.. I popped into a local shop, parked outside the front door, so was only in there a couple of minutes, but when I returned to the car the Drivers window was fully open.

Ah I hadn’t properly understood that only the nearside windows had dropped (when you said “passenger” I misunderstood that as meaning all the windows - sorry!).

That behaviour is certainly oddballs.
