Hi all,
After starting my EV journey in May 2015 I have owned 3 Zoe's, first was an ex demo 22kWh, second a new 2017 ZE40 and now trading in my 2020 ZE50 for a 2021 (71) 150kW Family Pro Performance 58kWh in Moonstone Grey with 18" 'East Derry" alloys and panoramic glass sunroof. Collecting on Monday 14th Jan. 1063 miles recorded.

First foray into the VW brand after driving since mid 70s :o

Cheers
Mo

Hi Everyone

Also a new owner, and also living in Scotland.

I've been following the main forum, but decided to post here as my question relates to charging in Scotland. Hope another member from north of the border can give me some information.

Took delivery of my ID.3 on 7th March and signed up for Chargeplace Scotland as they have the majority of public chargers up here. I've since used a public charger on four occasions (last time on 23rd March). My sessions appear on my app but so far I've not received an invoice from them, and no money has been taken from my account. I expected to pay at the end of the month, but have heard nothing from them.

Can anyone tell me how they take the money from us for charging sessions. Perhaps I shouldn't be too concerned at not being charged, but, as a new customer, I'd just like to get an idea of how the system works.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi and welcome,
It can vary but you should receive invoices around 15th of each month and payment taken around 10 days later.

Hi Pondsman
I signed up for CPS just before SWARCO took over. I'm still waiting for them to take £8.98 for local charge in November last year! They have taken a more recent charge, so hopefully they have now got it right. Quite honestly SWARCO are useless to deal with. I've had to set up a direct debit twice now, and their latest communication said that they've looked at the session in November last year and will be taking the money soon ... The last time I visited my on-line account with them, they were asking me to complete setting up a direct debit!!

I was unaware they charged money. All the cps chargers here in Airdrie are free. I use them often for my phev.

Welcome pondsman! CPS is also free in Blairgowrie and possibly still free across Perth and Kinross county. I use their RFID card. Although the chargers they manage can be as unreliable as any, I’ve found their phone response quick and helpful.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. Wasn't aware that charging was still free in some areas. Machines here in Dundee have stickers on them stating that they now charge fees, but maybe they just haven't got round to taking the money.

Guess I'll just enjoy the rides while they are free!

Dundee started to charge for both charging and parking fees on 1st April, before that if your car was registered with the council you got free parking and charging, its still worth registering with the council as Dundee residents get preferential rates 38p connection fee and 15p/kWh on all chargers.

I have been driving EVs since early 2015 so have been lucky enough to have 1000s of miles free charging.

That's a decent price. No doubt my local ones will start charging cash at some point and at those prices that's cheaper than charging from home. My local Morrisons has a charge point..50.5p/kWh. Won't be using that one one any time soon.

If you join Bonnet you can get Genie Point (Morrisons) for 35p on their PAYG plan.
There also other networks where it is all 35p.
