Our very grey Max arrived on 31st May!

It was late in the day so I didn't get to do more than a tootle to the shops, but yesterday was some motorway and some tight parking. The 360 view is super handy.

Now to figure out the charging process with hypervolt, solar and Octopus Flex 🤯 oh and bike rack attaching ... self parking.. etc Fun times!

So far i've only done the short drive back from the dealer, but so far i'm really impressed with everything the car has. Here's to many happy miles ahead and for those still waiting on their car to arrive, i'm sure it'll be worth the wait if you're able to stick it out to delivery!

A few photos:

Great to see another person who’s had a marathon wait get their car.

Congratulations, I do like a moonstone ID.3 but I’m a little biased.

Hope you at enjoying it as much as I’m enjoying mine

I have exactly the same licence expired message on my new Tour. I have logged it with weconnect support, but nothing seems effected, only this warning message
Me too on my Max.
Me three or four. Same error.

I’ve not worked out how to ‘log with WeConnect’ but will do as soon as I work it out.

Once I logged the error with reconnect support, the message disappeared after a few days and never returned.

Finally got an update from dealer for my Tour (ordered Aug 21) BW7.

It’s finally moved to status 30 on Friday and is on its way to the port.

So if anyone else is waiting around that build week may be worth checking.

Now I guess the next question is… are the port delays any better now ;-)

My ID.4 was just over 7 weeks from port to the dealer. So delays have been quite bad.

To anybody who's just got their new cars, how many years WeConnect subscription did you get? And did it say that many years when registering the car on there?
I'm expecting three years, but the app is saying two.

That wait is appalling! I ordered on the same day as you burr received mine at the end of April. I felt little emotion at collection, mainly because of the wait and VW (not the dealer) being arses. I have warmed to it since I have been driving it and now have no regrets at all and am looking for reasons to take a drive. I hope you enjoy the tour.

Thank you! Glad to know it’ll be worth the wait hopefully, currently I’m also in the “meh” phase so hopefully I’ll enjoy it too if it does ever arrive ;-)

I too was the same waiting on my Max, The collection process was a non event for me, Dealer done everything they could to keep me interested but it took a few days after collection to feel happy with it, Now I'm in love with it and so glad I waited it out. I'm sure you will be equally happy when you finally get it, hang in there.

I am so disappointed that this thread is still going. Congrats to those who have recently picked up their new car and commiserations to those still waiting.

Battery Life did a couple of videos with the ID3 facelift this week and, prompted by VW (ie, an advert), he told viewers that the waiting list for new ID cars is down to 2-3 months, with some models even less.
I have also seen VW dealers advertising 0% finance on new ID cars in the last few days (ID5,4,3 but not the facelift) if you order before October. This has come up through Google ads etc.
They are obviously short of orders now. Not very surprising given the price hikes and the general economy. If anyone is still waiting for orders from from previous years, it shouldn't be long.

my wk11 build came into tyne on the 27th April, I picked it up yesterday. it had sat in Emden for just over 6 weeks prior
Thanks both - I'd forgotten about Tyne, thought it was just Grimsby and Sheerness. They have told me I'll get it at the start of next month but hopefully it will be a bit quicker.
No real update from me other than they've confirmed in writing that the car is at status 40 and at the UK port, but due to delays at the port they can't give me an estimated delivery date.

Week 03 build from a November 2021 order.

My current MOT expires in July so hoping to have received it by then so I can sell my current car before then.

Nearly a month on and the car is still at Tyne Port. So frustrating after an 18 month wait for it now to be stuck somewhere in this country!

Anyone else with similar issues? It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one.

Hah! So I can expect more delays then. I’ve been told that I’ve finally moved to status 36/38 after 2 weeks of status 20 and that it’s waiting for a boat to Emden.

So I’m sure I’ll feel your pain next ;(

I’ve not chased for a status update to be honest, my week 9 had made it to the port but have no idea If it’s in the country as yet!

Delays from UK ports to dealers is due to the lack transporter drivers. Back when many companies were crying out for HGV drivers and offering incentive bonuses a lot of drivers went then and they've never been replaced.
