I'm not sure what difference this is going to make in the long run but I noticed that the VW UK website now contains a notice indicating that the ID range now follows "Manufacturer's Direct Price (MDP)" https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/legal/m ... ained.html like the Cupra Born range aka an agency model.
My main concern in the past with this is that I worried that it might cause retailers to favour their ICE models, negotiating the price is also an issue but something I was never good at anyway. I also wonder how much obligation a retailer would feel in accepting a trade in. Again I suspect it doesn't hugely impact how franchised retailers operate in the challenges of their brand dictating how they operate.
Anyone else know if this shift will make any difference to the buying experience ?
