Does anyone know if this works in the UK for an ID.3?

Apple says "The Maps app can help you plan trips that include stops for charging your EV and monitor charges in your car while driving. Important: EV routing is available on select vehicles and in select areas. Features vary by county and region."

They go on to describe how to link your car to Apple Maps in cars that allow direct links through car play or alternatively in cars that need to link via the car manufacturer's app.

I can link my phone through car play and often use Apple Maps for route finding in preference to the built in navigation in the car, but it would be nice also to have the app monitoring the state of charge of the car. I can't see any of the options displayed in the Maps app.
Both car and phone are running latest software.

Thanks, Charles
Charles.

Short answer is no.

Google can do the same - but your manufacturer has to buy into Google’s system. Polestar and Renault do. Don’t know who is supported by Apple.

At the moment it needs to be ‘in the car’ rather than on the phone so it can get the cars SOC and present consumption to work out where to stop etc. this is possible on a phone as ABRP does - but we’ve not seen it yet.

Long answer is also no :)

The new Porsche Macan for one has it - saw it shown in a review and there's a bunch of press releases from Apple saying the new carplay integration was being included. Porsche USA also have a couple of mentions.

The Ford MachE has supported EV routing for a while - my understanding is that the new car support is a more comprehensive integration of carplay with car functions not just stage of charge. https://9to5mac.com/2022/03/18/mach-e-e ... s-carplay/
