Hi - my first post, and it's a problem ...
++++++++ Update: Octopus updated their app this morning and the car and house are now in harmony. If I can work out how to delete this post I will, if not thanks for your attention. I expect this is going to be a steep learning curve for me. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=
We have Octopus Intelligent Go and a Zappi. It all worked fine with my previous EV (eNiro). We just plugged it in and it got the job done. No fuss.
The ID.3 and charger both know the other is there. But that’s it. Octopus says “we couldn’t complete your test charge” and times out.
Our charger has no competing schedules, nor has the car. The battery is running out of juice. The charge limit is set to 100%.
I can charge the car in real-time (ie peak rate energy via the Zappi app) but when I tried to schedule a charge on the Zappi last night, nothing happened.
We have no GSM phone signal so I’ve hooked the car up to the wifi. I’ve deleted the original home location, tried again and then reinstalled it. I've updated the car software.
I’ve also ticked far too many boxes handing over my data. The ID.3 seems much keener on harvesting data than being a car.
Octopus Inteligent won't pair with ID.3

Enroll the Zappi rather than the car. The car doesn't use wifi for anything (other than wheret radio) so you can dispense with that.

I had similar problems when Ohme charger would not sync with the car - didn't work for a while and then suddenly it all sorted itself out.
Biggest problem is that the smart electric meter has stopped sending readings. The gas one is still working tho.

That's a bit odd, as the gas meter sends via the electricity meter, so the connectivity is obviously still there.

I had the same last year. My electrcitiy meter stopped sending reading but the gas meter worked throughout. It goes through a connection box attached to the electricity meter rather than the electric meter itself I think. Eventually Octopus replaced the electricity meter and it's been working since, but that took them 7-8 months of nagging, they aren't very good when it comes to resolving issues with hardware.StewartManley wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2024 11:20 amThat's a bit odd, as the gas meter sends via the electricity meter, so the connectivity is obviously still there.

It took me 18 months to get Octopus to install a WORKING smart meter. I had told them, some months earlier, that the set-up needed an aerial because of the poor signal where we are (off the West coast of Scotland),
Finally they came with a new meter and an aerial! It worked and I was able to get IO Go. Sync with the ID.3 worked first time, though I don’t usually use it, as it’s on my wife’s smartphone - I don’t have one.
Still 7p per Kwh after the October increase.

Only for older SMETS1 meters. SMETS2 electricity meters have the comms built into the meter itself.

No, it's attached but not the same unit. Mine are all SMETS2 (and were before the above all occurred).StewartManley wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 10:19 amOnly for older SMETS1 meters. SMETS2 electricity meters have the comms built into the meter itself.

They managed to get readings out it but it isn't sending them every 30 minutes which is what I need for the EV tariff. It's all tied up in a much larger complaint where they replaced the meter tails and wired them in backwards, broke the old meter, cut me off and refused to connect me. I'm already up to agreed £500 compensation but I refuse to close the complaint whilst the smart meter doesn't work.StewartManley wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2024 11:20 amThat's a bit odd, as the gas meter sends via the electricity meter, so the connectivity is obviously still there.
