Key fob

I changed the battery on my ID.3 key fob but in doing so I clumsily detached the soft button side of the fob and it is a devil of a job to re-attach. Does anyone have a quick fix for this? Please only reply if you have an answer. I want solutions not sympathy.

Happened to me a while ago. I used a sharp knife to jam it back in around the side and a few dabs of superglue. Still not perfect so I have now put a key cover on it too. I did see someone more recently on one of the Facebook groups who had a better solution, but no good for me now I've used superglue. I can't remember which group it was in and can't find it now from a quick search, it was one of these:

I ran into same issue and finally able to open the metal casing without breaking any pins and damaging or pinching the rubber. I've made a short video of it. You can take a look

Really useful thanks - my cover spontaneously detached itself, absolutely no idea why, now I can see how to repair. Nice one.....
