Pre heating car

Got the car a 20 plate and the pre heating worked fine up until I had the 3.2 update the it stopped.
Asked on the forum and tried all sorts of thing recommended but still not working. Then the 3.7 update, thinking that's it it will work, but no.
I've got the 2nd service in Feb. Do you think the dealers would be able to fix this. Is it the car? Is it the app?
Apart from deleting the app again and reloading, I'm at a loss.
Appreciate any help with this.

I had some issues like this when I first got my used ID3. Couldn't remotely start heating or see range etc.

Eventially found a (..the only) tech savvy person at a VW dealer who navigated me through various web pages of permissions I needed to grant (that nobody else at VW had told me about). Once I had signed my life away all the remote app based stuff came to life.

Sorry no I can't explain what those pages were or where they are....if it breaks again I'll just go back to VW.

In the car infotainment, go to the 'shop' and make sure you have both weconnect and weconnect plus. Hopefully this will be free.
Then go to the 'user' menu, click privacy settings and make sure both sets of permissions are toggled on.
Then in the app, settings menu, click mobile online services and check what you want to do is enabled in there.

That's a bit weird. Are your other remote app functions working?

My app has been telling me the car has no internet connection. Happened yesterday and still not fixed. Did I read somewhere this is a Europe wide issue? Would this affect the OP’s issue?

I've just had the same issue, I jumped in car and turned off at button selection air con now then locked up which seems to have worked as a workaround to defrost the car without me in it.

Like all information today, it comes from the internet. SpeakEV. So who knows, but it sounds feasible.

I have the same 'no internet connection" problem when I try to preheat my ID3 from the app. This problem seems to be from about 8pm onwards on 9 January 2025 and still an issue at 10am, on 10 jan 25. My Easee home charger has a great wifi and 4G connection so it seems to me that this is a VW issue.

My id3 21 plate has stopped working for preheating the car due to no WiFi connection it says. Worked perfectly until today. Checked everything in the car.
Seems to be a VW problem if lots of us affected.

There's another thread active on this topic. Search 'Car is online but app says it isn't'.

The app says car has no internet connection, therefore remote air con doesn't work. Also Intelligent Octopus Go can't control charging. The problem began on 9/1/25. Not yet resolved, for me at least, at 23:00 on 10/1/25.
