Seeing the 2nd Aug was a Monday I would believe your order was placed in the August quota and therefore getting an order number on the 2nd.

It was, yes. We aren't taking out any finance and we got the order number overnight - I'm not sure if this makes any difference compared to people who have to be approved for PCP etc (not that I know your situation.) Maybe we were just luckier with dealer allocations (it was a carwow price match but we ordered through Johnson's Liverpool.) Of course, it could end up being 'in build' for 6 weeks yetksoni94 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 11:32 amahh so weird. I ordered 26/07 and still haven't had a confirmed build week. Was yours a fresh order?sidehaas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 10:35 am We ordered 05/08 and a few weeks ago were given a provisional build week of 42 (18/10 I think). We just had the build week of 42 confirmed by the dealer.
He couldn't give an estimated delivery date with any confidence (he had previously suggested November, which seemed very optimistic). I'm hoping to get it this year, which aligns with what we were told when ordering.

What? You are supposed to take out finance to get an extra £1750 off and pay off finance within 14 days, keeping the £1750 (unless you are buying through a company).

I used the VW chatbot this afternoon to seek an update on my factory order (which has been built and released for shipment since 22/09).
Whilst waiting for a responder, every 5 minutes you have to play whackamole with a pop-up which invites you to disconnect. After 25minutes the chatbot disconnected without asking. At my 2nd attempt after 30 minutes a service agent responded.
Here is his reply when I asked for an progress update:
"Jo**
Unfortunately, we're no longer able to provide updates from here. Because of the delays, our information is no longer accurate so we're not best placed to provide updates. We'd advise keeping in touch with your selling Retailer directly in this case and they'll be able to provide you with the most up to date, accurate details. I apologise for the inconvenience."
So, having removed the web-based progress monitor in August, VW UK have now stopped providing updates to their customers.
It seems bizarre that the distributors (retailers) would have a better view of the order status than the UK HQ of the manufacturer. I can't help thinking that if VW has had to slow down production it should currently have greater resources & capacity to keep it's customers informed.

Latest update from my dealer is my build week has been pushed to week 48 provisionally. Not overly happy since that probably rules out a 2021 delivery and gets me close to a 6 month wait between order and delivery but nothing I can do about it

Can confirm that VW UK are now refusing to provide updates via live chat. Annoying considering up to a few days ago they were happy to provide. Latest news I had was released to shipping a few days ago.
They’ve made up an excuse that there updates are not accurate but it’s more likely they are being deliberately opaque now as they are having huge delays across a lot of models and are probably fed up getting constant requests now that the self service tracker is gone. I’m sure their visibility of order information has not changed at all.

Good luck. I think you ordered just in time. I ordered mine 14 Aug. Looking like February or March. I’ve reconciled myself to March as I’ve surplus miles in my current car, it’ll be a “22” reg and hopefully avoid worst of the winter. Keep us posted and pictures when delivered.
Hi all, new to the forum.
We ordered an ID3 life pure performance, with Drivers assistance pack plus in Makena Turquoise and 19” andoya wheels on 8th August, and so far our experience has been a nightmare.
We were told that would could expect delivery in November, Then our build was pushed to week 2 2022, and has now been pushed again to week 10 2022.
Have vented my frustration to VW uk with sod all difference, but my feeling is because it’s the pauper of the range, they are favoring the more expensive models.
Anyone else in the same boat ?

I got my order number just a week before you (placed order on 26 July). My expectations were set to an end of Oct delivery but my dealer checked my build week is provisionally set to Week 48 2021 after being at week 42 just a couple of weeks ago. That probably puts my delivery at around mid-end of Jan which I wasn't expected. I've debated cancelling but that might be a very reactionary feeling at the momentTom_1985 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:37 pm Hi all, new to the forum.

Welcome to the forum! I don’t think the trim level will make any difference to the priority given to your order.Tom_1985 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:37 pm Hi all, new to the forum.

VW are being deliberately difficult it would seem about order status because of the supply chain issues with computer chips. It would be better if they were being more upfront about progress but it would probably put people off ordering in the first place.
Your build week won’t become confirmed until about 4 weeks prior to the build week. You should have a greater idea of when you will receive your vehicle then. If you were confirmed for build week 10 your looking at delivery probably late March/April!

Hi all! I've just place an order through my work car scheme. It was initially quoting 18 weeks, but the order page now has an estimate of 'late March 2022'.
I've gone for a Pro Performance Family in turquoise with the East Derry alloys.

Hi all. New to the forum. Interesting to read everyone’s experiences and the approximate timelines provided by the various dealers. The more I read, the more I’ve been managing my own expectations . Ordered a Max on 13 Sep (assumed Week 37?). The dealer provided a provisional build week of 51.
