The brochures have had it listed for months now.

Has anyone actually seen this feature in an ID3? Or is this another example of VW typos a la memory seats?

From what I understand it’s not proper area view like you’d get on a Touareg for example, it’s actually just the rear view camera having a 180° camera angle. I’ve not experienced it, but that’s what I’ve read.

It is proper area view with 4 cameras, another forum user with a recent Tour showed screenshots a month or two ago. It is a recent addition though.

Could you kindly share that image of what it looks like on your Tour?

Also, did it come with the car or is it only on cars that are built recently? Assuming it’s some hardware requirement.

Edit: Just read through your posts and found it. So it sounds like it’s on all ID3s built some time in July onwards.

Extra cameras under the wing mirrors I believe, but only on Max and Tour specs.

Yup that’s exactly it, though I think the front camera is different to standard fit and the rear “parking” camera is different to standard fit as well.

I understand it’s the same Area View system as being fitted to ID.4’s presently, and YouTube has many vids online of that in use, might be worth the OP having a look at the expected experience.
