1st December Price Increases

Hi everyone,

Does anybody know what the price increases (that happened today) mean for existing ID3 orders?

For example:

I ordered my Tour in October directly with my local VW dealer and my order was excepted by VW and I was given my order number on the 25/11/21. When I ordered my Tour the price was £38,815 but has gone up by £1,735 to £40,550 today.

Does that mean, when I get my car sometime next year, I have to pay the new price of £40,550 or does my VW dealer have to honour the price of £38,815 as stated on the order I have placed?

The contractual price you signed at is the price you pay.

I was told about the increase when placing my order in November and asked the same question to the dealership and the price on the invoice I signed is the price I have to pay for the car.

Not strictly true. There will often be some print in your contract that allows VW to change the price should there be an increase in the cost or a change in the tax rate in the time between ordering the car and receiving it.
I have no idea how often this taken up but it would be worth checking.
It was certainly in the contract for my previous car.
My ID3 is lease so no idea.

Changes in taxation or grant are beyond VW's control. The price excluding those variables is locked by VW at point of order acceptance.

If the grant were changed, VW would probably do something about it to stop the customer being left out of pocket - they upped the deposit contribution to £4250 for those cars Ardeley prior to the grant threshold change that were no longer eligible for the grant.

According to the VW configurator the Assistance Pack Plus is an option but no mention of the Assistance Pack being an option.

If you search “Assistance” in the Family options then it presents a list showing Standard Assistance pack is standard equipment but the Assistance Plus is extra.

Here's the link to the 23-Sep brochure/price list

https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/files/live ... t-p11d.pdf

The Family pre-price-rise has the Assistance Pack as standard, consisting of these items :-
Assistance pack:
– Illuminated door handles
– Keyless entry including Start/Stop button on centre console
– Proactive occupant protection
– Rear-view camera
The Assistance Pack Plus was unavailable even as an option on the Family model.

Post the price rise, the Assistance Pack is still standard on the Family, and consists of these items :-
Assistance pack:
– Ambient lighting, exterior illuminated door handle recesses
– Anti-theft alarm system with interior monitoring, backup horn, and towing protection
– Keyless entry and starting
– Park distance control, front and rear with rear view camera preparation
– Pro-active occupant protection
– Rear-view camera
So I think there's no spec difference at all.

However, now you can spec a Family with the Assistance Pack Plus, which for the low, low price of £1330 nets you the following additional equipment to the Assistance Pack
Assistance pack Plus:
– Area View including rear view camera system
– Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist
– Memory feature for Park Assist Plus

Though if you search for Lane Assist it shows as standard, even though it’s not spelled out in the standard assistance pack:

(That’s on the Family at least)

We ordered the assistance pack plus on our life pro, on the configuration tool now, it’s not even listed as an option 🤷🏻‍♂️

I imagine this might be where the "I hope I get an MY22.5" conflicts for some.

Hi. First time poster having been following the site for a couple of months. Ordered a Life Pro Performance end of Oct with Assistance Pack Plus. As others I’m not expecting to see it until middle of next year. As previous post has noted the Assistance Pack (plus or not) can no longer be specified for a Life model (accepting the vagaries of the VW configurator as noted elsewhere). What I find more concerning is that Travel Assist seems to have disappeared from every spec/ pack. I see they have added park assist instead. I only added the assistance pack to get Travel Assist and already have park assist which I don’t use and for me is more of a gimmick. Hopefully I’ve missed something and someone can reassure me that Travel Assist is still around.

I noticed that, but in the dealer image - download/file.php?id=1153 - it mentions that travel assist is up to 2.5, so it's definitely there, just what it looks like for our Life+Assist Plus orders is going to be up in the air.

Thanks. I hadn’t spotted that. Hopefully then just down to more configurator incompetence. Will settle down now for the long wait and see what comes. Cheers

DriveTheDeal and CarWow claim the base price for Family Pro is £34,525.
VW website states it is £33,995.

DTD claim they are correct.

Interesting! times.

If DTD is correct I cannot see the Pro model lasting for long.

Update: VW chat states list is £33,995.
Marshall Volkswagen St Albans stated list is £33,995 and do not understand why CarWow claim £34,525.
