Greetings from Ireland

Hello there, fine ID3 folks ;) I'm facing an imminent replacement of my ancient ICE vehicle, currently split between MG ZS and ID3. The latter seems more like something I'd enjoy, but the price factor favours MG. I've set up test drives for both, so I'll be able to test things first-hand.

Meanwhile, perhaps you can answer a question: is there a way for me to verify a trim of an id3 somehow? Would it be marked on a chassis or in the infotainment system? I'm looking at second hand models, and while some of the trims are easy to identify (that sunroof <3), I'm wondering if I have a quick way of verifying which model am I looking at. In other words: how do I verify that I'm purchasing what I think I'm purchasing? 8)

Thanks!

How's it going! I'm not sure about the infotainment system but you can tell from the features that car has. Each trim has specific defined characteristics, such as a sun roof, two climate control zones, heads up display, battery size, etc. Are you looking at a specific trim vehicle that we might point you to look for a specific combination of features?

As an FYI, there was more trim options available in Ireland than there was in the UK, for example the Tour 5 that I'm waiting on was never available in the UK.

I'm after the Tech trim; that is, specifically, I'm hell bent on getting the panoramic roof :) The only two trims that had it was Family and Tech, if I recall correctly. Anything else that is on Tech, and not on Family?

Not sure how customizable ID3 was before trim reduction - eg. were there options that could be added regardless of the trim. I only remember the heat pump as such thing.

I’ve got all the brochures on Google drive going back a long long time and it covers all the models - would it help if I just made a link for the folder and you could see all the specs as published by VW since 1st edition?

That would definitely be helpful :)

I think I made a Google sheet with all the configuration options in Ireland I can drag it up. But they're not available to buy brand new now, only makes sense if you're buying a second hand one now.

Btw, you asked how many customisations were available, only the colour, the heat pump, some different wheel alloys and sizes and then a copper or silver highlight thing on the C pillars. Oh, there was some trims that you could have white trim options on the interior wheel and dash. Basically cosmetic options.

That sheet sounds useful, would be nice to see it if you have it :)

That was information that was right at the time. There was also some conflicting information between the brochure and the online configurator so I think I used to the brochure where there was conflict.

Here’s the link for my Google Drive archive of all the PDF brochures for the ID.3 I have since the 1ST edition. I’ve only just realised this is for the UK rather than Ireland (sorry!) so may not be much use. But I said I’d share, so I have 😂
