I said I wasn't phoning the garage again but ended up phoning them yesterday only to be told they're with a customer and they'll phone me back. Still waiting on the call

1 week post the 12 month club. At least I've got confirmation that the grant has been extended to 18 months and it's likely ill get my car before then

Also this, looks like no grant now for the 12 months + people, really feel for you guys if its all true at either paying more or cancelling after waiting 12 months already,

I said this will happen months ago when I cancelled for the C40 (due next month) as the government won’t give money away and VW can sell the car to the next customer

I got an email from this same customer service person—I think they must be the only one in the country. The tone of the whole email reads so rudely when ended with “this is our last communication on this matter”. They are barely communicating. I’ve always had tired old cars and was so excited to buy a fancy new one. The experience so far has been a disappointment.

We are also in the 1 year plus club. I was told in the summer that my grant was good until October even though we ordered in August. Well it is now October. We have no idea about the grant. Unfortunately for VW I’m out the country and my incredibly stubborn partner is dealing with things. The idea of paying the £2500 when our car is arriving 10-12 month later than promised is hard to accept.

After 13 months and 16 days my car is at the dealers ready for collection.
No prior notice of arrival but to receive the grant Im advised I have to complete the deal by the October 31st. (7 days)
The dealer said there is nothing they can do as its something between VW and the GOV???
With the long wait I decided "come the day" I would part with my BMW and pay the balance in cash rather than take the finance. I'm now rushing around trying to put together £30k+ or lose the grant and maybe the car.
Life is never easy with VW.

No leeway with it. The sales manager said he wasn't being an A*** Hole (his choice of words not mine) its how it is. The argument continued to
a point where cancellation of my order by them was looming if I didn't calm down.

What utter rubbish. So if the car arrives on October 30th, they have to prepare it, register it and sell it to you on the 31st otherwise the grant is lost?

14 months now passed for me although light at the end of the tunnel(possibly) if build week correct

I have been reading the PICG rule book and also spoke to a friendly non-VW dealer about this as I had heard it elsewhere as well (I’m actively scouting for a different brand car now, and so the non-VW dealer is being very chatty). So what happens is OZEV do check with the manufacturers at the end of each month that delivery has happened for cars notified for customer delivery in that month. However this does not mean customers need to complete within the month of delivery to the dealer. What has most likely happened is someone at either the dealer or VW UK has already set the ball rolling on the claim system in this month without them checking first with you as to whether you can complete in the month. Now that is already in process they are up against it to confirm customer delivery in October.

Basically someone jumped the gun and they now need to follow through this month. If they had said it would be delivered to customer in Nov then that would have been fine as well. It is their f**k-up but it is now in-process and there is no going back. The non-VW dealer I spoke with says it is likely the dealer - might be interesting to ask the dealer for a print off of what is on claim portal as that might give clues as to who submitted what info & when.
