Taken from a Tesla forum:

Not strictly a Tesla related post, but considering lots of us are with Octopus because of Go / Intelligent etc…thought it might be useful.

They’ve enabled a gas tracker tariff again, which gets you under the price cap, as long as wholesale prices remain lower of course. If things get worse again, you can change back instantly.

You can do it over email, but they are inundated because it’s been on Hotukdeals, when I called today around 4pm, got through in a few minutes and changed it there and then.

Doing this has taken my gas unit price from just over 10p to 6.91p. The average seems to be between 6-7p.

It's been open since October - it only closed down for a month when the EPG was introduced, then came back with slightly different terms, but they keep it fairly quiet. I've been on it since last July.
Happy to answer any questions people have. This website is the easiest way to look at prices:

Thanks. Depending on how much you charge the electric tracker might be worth it too?

Yer it could be if you don't do a lot of miles (or don't charge at home). You just have to keep an eye on the price and be ready to switch off it if the price goes too high, as the caps are very high and the electric price tends to be more volatile than the gas price. However people who know better than me seem to think the price is going to stay lower than the EPG cap now.

Intelligent octopus for id3. Today I noticed id3 is now on the octopus app for Intelligent. Tried to log on but get right to the end and it says something went wrong. Anyone else had any luck?

You’re right. Wasn’t available the other day. Seems it would be cheaper than go from memory

I had a look yesterday but the rates were higher than my current Go rates (10p v 7.5p, and about 41p v 35p day rate).

There is nothing competitive with a Go or Go Faster 7.5p rate for EV charging. Unfortunately for new sign ups or re contracts Go now costs 12p off peak and Go Faster is no longer available. Maybe things will get better again in a few months.

I'm on Intelligent Octopus, and it works with my ID.3. My charger's an Ohme home pro. I've been on the tariff for about a month. It was a bit of a faff to set it up, but once done I've not had any problems.

Weird really as it’s a little inconsistent. I have a Hypervolt charger. I’ll call octopus this week and feed back to everyone here.

Intelligent Octopus is available for me in the mobile app (iOS) along with PodPoint charger. Looking at the rates I will wait until my Octopus Go term comes to an end as I currently have better rates on this and the 4 hours window is sufficient

I've come to the same conclusion, my Octopus Go rate ends in late march so I'll likely switch to Intelligent then.

Currently my Go overnight rate is 7.5p/kwh and if I renewed that again it would go up to 12p . Compared to 10p on intelligent. (Both with a 41.64p peak rate kwh).

I was wary of locking into a new deal as energy prices are sky high now but will hopefully start to fall again later this year, but, it seems Intelligent Octopus is a variable rate (unlike Go which is a fixed rate for the year). So fingers crossed that will come down.

Go is now listed as variable and not fixed. My renewal has no end date.

Although Intelligent is a variable rate, it hasn't changed in the 10 weeks or so since it was first quoted as a replacement for Go faster when my fixed deal on that came to an end. It'll be interesting to see if Octopus change it in the next few weeks if the tracker rate continues to stay significantly lower.

Oh I hadn't realised they'd changed it (go to variable), I'll be interested to see what options they 'offer' me as my renewal notice should be coming soon,

But if IO is 2p cheaper and 2hrs longer I'll probably switch if that's still the case.

I think you can qualify by having either an approved car or an approved charger. The id3 has not been “approved” up to now, but it sounds as though that may have just changed. I know the Ohme home pro is a suitable charger.

What is interesting is that Octopus Go Green is only available to VAG cars:

Octopus Go Green is our electric vehicle tariff exclusively for Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda or Cupra EV drivers. All our electricity tariffs are green but with Octopus Go Green, we've purchased the power directly from renewable generators through power purchase agreements rather than buying Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) certificates. Go Green rates will mirror Go rates so the only difference is how we purchase the electricity.

Are you sure it’s either the car or charger? I thought both had to be approved to be able to switch? I have a Zappi which as far as I know is not approved so I will be really happy if you are right that you only need the one approved.
