Software update

Hi, I’m currently having issues with the software update to 2.4. I took my car to Heritage Gloucester and they claim to have performed the update but the car still says it’s at software level 2.3. Is there something I need to do to get it to the correct software level after the garage has done their thing or are they just BSing me?

This is version 2.4 although it actually says 2.3.0 the important number to check is 0912 software number

You are definitely at v2.4, but VW's team of crack software engineers forgot to put "version 2.4" in the update code, which was careless. (Like much of the software they've inflicted on us!)
You can tell it's v2.4 because the Device No has a G at the end. Software v2.3 has F at the end, just in case you have a screenshot from before the update.

Volkswagen refuse to look at it without me paying £160 'diagnostic' fee.

Have what? It's the same in every car, none say 2.4 after the update. I'm not sure about the "G" bit in the device code but if it says 0912 on that screen rather than 0910 then you are definitely on 2.4.
