I’ve been away on holiday for 6 days now - car parked at home in the drive. No attachments - cameras or things plugged in and my battery has dropped from 73 to 58% quite steadily. This has never happened before on either id3 I’ve owned… anyone else seen similar? iD FB group consensus seems this is quite wrong and I should take it to the dealer!

What does the battery drain indicator state on the infotainment screen? (Should be visible on the vehicle data screen when parked, measured in kWh/h.)

That's strange - I was expecting something from my car but I get nothing - mine has been parked for a couple of days and I've been in to it to check settings (only had it a week) and the batter percentage has stayed the same.

The VW 4G network and app have been down for several days now. My WeID is certainly giving inconsistent results at the moment.

Where are you? I'm in Livingston and I'm showing last sync as 20hrs ago.

Just popped out to check my tyre pressures and the car did a sync (unlocked and opened the door to look at the pressure sticker) - showing as 5 minutes ago in Tronity and in the We Connect ID. app on android.

Tronity is also showing that I parked up with 59% three days ago and is still showing the same percentage (app also showing 59% battery).

It's not normal for SoC to drop at all, even over 2-3 weeks.
As for other posts, losses of connectivity are more commonly vehicle specific or limited to a selection of users, I think there has been either one or two brief wholesale outages since we had our car (Jan 22).

Interestingly, my ID.3, which sat several months over last winter and lost only 2%, has lost 18% whilst sitting for three months this winter, 6% over the past three weeks. It is not just you!

Well I’ve just got back - battery from 73-55% in 7 days.

Straight to a 12v battery warning. No idea why. Anyway - I’d guess that was the issue that’s been causing a drain on the HV as it recharges the 12v. This battery is 2-3 months old (after 2.4 update)…

Dealer call on Tuesday…

That is quite interesting, because in my case (actually before I knew the level had dropped), I started this thread concerning my 12V battery level: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2814

In the end, my father-in-law turned on the ignition, which resulted in the car connecting to WeConnect again, and that's when I discovered the huge drop, most of which had happened during the time the car was not communicating, due to "12V battery too low".

My father-in-law reported seeing the the 12V battery message in the car when he turned the ignition on.

This same car sat for the same amount of time (in the exact same place even!) the previous winter, with the old 12V battery and 2.3 software version, and the HV battery did not drop appreciably. It also didn't report 12V battery low, but as I wasn't using VWsFriend yet back then, this may have changed the car's use of the WeConnect power budget.

Thanks for your post and that’s Interesting - but not using Vwsfriend and only checking once/twice a day I don’t see how this has happened!!

There’s no problem with the cars connection - and if the HV battery has been used to charge the 12v one why is there a fault still!!

It’s a 77kwh battery - so 18% is nearly 14kwh of juice used in a week!!! That’s two days domestic usage!!

Well after a timed charge last night. I noticed after I’d reached 80% (with 30 min to go) it was still charging by a small amount.

Just popped it on untimed charge and it’s pulling 500w continuously. 12v battery warning still on.

🤦‍♂️

12v ‘take a long drive’ warning has now changed to a 12v issue. Visit workshop.

Huh. So call to dealer results in their closest booking of 3rd May…

the dealer also said if you call VW Assistance then they ‘make a roadside assessment’ then take it to the nearest Vw garage where they have 72 hours to deal with it.. I suspect this means an AA fella comes around - scratches his head - and it ends up on a flat bed going to the dealer.

Neither option is ideal!

Times may have changed but after 20 odd years within the breakdown service if a car was driveable it will not get recovered in. This was due to cost mainly.

The lady at the dealer suggested heavily that if the car gets bought in by the recovery service - I get a hire car and they have 72 hours to start work on it... I'll bide my time until the appointment unless it gets ridiculous in the meantime...
