hi all

looking at a late 2023 77kwh with latest software. does vehicle to home charging work on these ?

Theoretically it will do when a bidirectional charger exists. At the moment it doesn't - so it's not usable. I wouldn't base a purchasing decision on this personally.
ID.3 Family Pro Performance (Jan 22). Also an ID.4 Max. Ohme Home Pro charger.

I saw a section in the infotainment system regarding V2H. I haven’t gone deeper as per what sidehaas said.

we are installing a wallbox2 which supports bi-directional. with octopus flex getting paid to fill up the car and be able to power the house is a really big plus.

How are they to live with, public chargers etc ?

I get the idea of bi-directional charging, esp for those that can't put PV on the roof, but not sure using the vehicle as a deep cycle battery for the house is a great idea.

Constantly cycling the car battery for domestic use will almost certainly degrade the battery faster, every battery regardless of technonogy has a lifetime in cycles, and while the tech is evolving all the time, we are not at a point where I would risk the cars battery health to save a few quid on my domestic bill.
