SW 3.7 OTA update is starting
I think this is one that older cars (built pre 3.1) got a while ago - it's an update to the software controlling the pulse inverters. Or at least that message is the same.
ID.3 Family Pro Performance (Jan 22). Also an ID.4 Max. Ohme Home Pro charger.
Took 3 attempts but went on when I moved car to better mobile signal area. 2 updates in last 2 months, let's hope with 3.7 about to rollout that there will be regular updates beyond this.

Don't hold your breath...
My 2nd ID.3 which I got in Nov. last year came with 3.5 and was updated OTA to 3.7 the next day. Nothing since then....
Scratch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 3:51 pmWas it updated by the dealer? We got ours in March this year and it’s still on 3.5.
What? I’ll be on the phone to VW first thing in the morning.
When 3.7 first arrived, it apparently still showed as 3.5 (doh) so they pushed a small OTA just to update the number in the infotainment. I remember it was posted about in the ID Driver's Facebook group at the time. So if that's true, it seems likely you have 3.5 and Sherlock always had 3.7 but for the first day it was erroneously showing 3.5. It's possible I'm remembering this wrongly though! There was also a similar minor ota to update the number only when people got 3.2 done - many cars showed 3.1 just for the first hour or so after they got 3.2.

I think I am giving up on VW to actually tell us what we have or don’t have and their software prowess is as bad as it always has been. At the moment my IOS app tells me the car is offline so won’t sync with the car, but the car is definitely online, according to the settings in the car. This should be a separate post, so my apologies. I have posted about this on Speakev.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:54 pmWhen 3.7 first arrived, it apparently still showed as 3.5 (doh) so they pushed a small OTA just to update the number in the infotainment. Update: Just noticed there is indeed a post about this on here. Mine still won’t sync though. Do we think I should pull the fuse? Whilst that sort of action may work, I feel it doesn’t solve the issue long term.
That may be correct - I don't really know.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:54 pmWhen 3.7 first arrived, it apparently still showed as 3.5 (doh) so they pushed a small OTA just to update the number in the infotainment. But why would Scratch get 3.5 in March this year if I got 3.7 in November last year?
Why wouldn't Scratch get 3.7?
No idea! If both cars were brand new that doesn't make sense.Sherlock wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:18 amThat may be correct - I don't really know.sidehaas wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:54 pmWhen 3.7 first arrived, it apparently still showed as 3.5 (doh) so they pushed a small OTA just to update the number in the infotainment. My car was a pre-reg. First registered Dec 23. I bought it in March 24. Dealer told me that they had updated the software to the latest available. But then, that’s a dealer isn’t it. Maybe they didn’t bother. The car runs fine - so far.sidehaas wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:55 amNo idea! Dealers only got the 3.7 update quite recently I think. Back then the latest they were doing was 3.2, so if it came with 3.5 that would have been the latest available, even if some had started coming with 3.7 from the factory.Scratch wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 12:38 pmMy car was a pre-reg. Not personally, but increasing numbers of people have been getting it on the Facebook owners groups in the last couple of days, yes.

Update notification received last night and successfully installed overnight, Followed the on screen instruction to switch off side lights and locked the car to allow install. After install there is a further small data package to download whilst car is online.
The car now shows Software 3.7 as opposed to 3.2 previously. It will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable difference when I come to drive the car.
It certainly seems that VW have finally made good on the promise of OTA updates, four years after the purchase of my ID3 1st Edition.

It’s definitely an improvement. Why the car can only download the update data when it’s being driven, I find odd though. Why on earth can’t it be downloaded overnight and run on the following night, perhaps. Don’t Tesla do the whole update thing when the car is parked up?Kirkbysteve wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:47 am Update notification received last night and successfully installed overnight, Followed the on screen instruction to switch off side lights and locked the car to allow install.
